Chat API
Status
Read and set the status of the member behind the token.
Base URLhttps://chat.polder.work
The status is the emoji, the text and the availability people see next to your name in Chat. These endpoints always work on the member behind the token; there is no id in the path. See Overview for authentication.
The status object
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
emoji |
string or null | Emoji shown with the status. |
text |
string or null | Status text. |
availability |
string | available, away or do-not-disturb. |
label |
string | The availability as a label in the language of the request. |
isManual |
boolean | true when set by hand, false when a repeating status rule set it. |
Responses wrap the object in data.
Get your status
/api/v1/statusReturns the current status of the token's member.
curl https://chat.polder.work/api/v1/status \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $POLDER_TOKEN"
{
"data": {
"emoji": "📅",
"text": "In a meeting",
"availability": "do-not-disturb",
"label": "Do not disturb",
"isManual": true
}
}
Set your status
/api/v1/statusReplaces the status. This is the same action as setting it in Chat: a status you set here wins over a repeating status rule until the rule's next turn, and isManual becomes true. A script that sets a status may therefore find it changed later by a rule.
Send the whole status. emoji and text that you leave out (or send as null) are cleared.
Body
| Field | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
availability |
string | yes | available, away or do-not-disturb. |
emoji |
string | no | Up to 16 characters. |
text |
string | no | Up to 100 characters. |
curl -X PATCH https://chat.polder.work/api/v1/status \

-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Accept: application/json" \
-d '{"emoji": "📅", "text": "In a meeting", "availability": "do-not-disturb"}'
Returns 200 with the new status object. An invalid body returns 422.
